Fever Rub — Infant Fever Remedy

FEVER RUB™ for Baby Fever Control.

FEVER RUB™ is a ready to use mixture of water, grain ethanol, acetic acid and lavender oil specifically formulated to use for sponging therapy when baby fever reduction is necessary.  All ingredients FEVER RUB™ are used in safe proportions to assure the maximum cooling effect.  Water alone does not evaporate very rapidly, but with an addition of moderate amount of ethanol evaporation is increased so that body cooling occurs faster and more efficiently. Small amounts of acetic acid and lavender oil aid in cooling of infant high fever by opening skin blood vessels and bringing blood to the skin surface.

Any infection in children can cause fever and children get them several times a year. Even self-limited infection, such as cold, can make a child very uncomfortable, weak and cranky. Febrile children loose a lot of water to perspiration, when their bodies try to cool themselves down and often refuse to drink, become dehydrated and get worse. Reduction of infant fever makes them more comfortable and allows them to keep up with water losses.
